From Netflix docu-series The Roshans to Paatal Lok 2, Matka King, and more, here are the Hindi series and films OTT releases for January 2025.
1. The Roshans (January 17):
The Roshans, produced by Netflix, is a four-part docu-series. It aims to give avid Indian cinema buffs and fanatics an in-depth glance into the starry persona and unfiltered side of the legendary film family that has been a part of Hindi cinema since the early 19th century. It will stream on Netflix.
2. Paatal Lok 2 (January 17):
After witnessing the gripping, dramatic, and nail-biting events of its first season, crime thriller Paatal Lok returns to the OTT screens for ardent OTT fanatics. In Season 2, skilled and brave-hearted inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary and his team will delve into a risky and unexplored territory. Season 2 promises a deviously twisted, darker, and more compelling narrative that will keep viewers hooked. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
3. The Family Man 3: (Release Date: TBA):
The popular spy series is back for its third season, with Manoj Bajpayee reprising his role as Srikant Tiwari. The much-awaited third season of the critically acclaimed and award-winning Indian spy crime-comedy drama series promises to bring unexplored, mind-bending, and nail-biting challenges and an immense blend of drama and action. It will air on Amazon Prime Video.
4. Matka King: (Release Date: TBA):
Set in Mumbai, the Hindi action-thriller drama series Matka King follows the fascinating life journey of a cotton trader who conceptualizes a new and intriguing gambling game named Matka. This game quickly spreads through the city like an unending wildfire. The series will revolve around how this game, initially only meant for the affluent class people, becomes a popular activity and a phenomenon that crosses all sorts of class hierarchies. While the makers have kept the release date under wraps, this prolific Marathi filmmaker Nagraj Manjule-helmed Indian action-crime-drama series will be premiering on Amazon Prime Video.
5. Black Warrant: (January 10):
Based on the novel Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer, maverick B-town filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane-helmed Hindi action-crime thriller drama series promises to give OTT audiences a glance into the intriguing life of a Tihar Jail superintendent. The show will explore the countless daunting challenges of operating one of the largest prison facilities in India. The series will premiere on Netflix.
6. Dabba Cartel: (Series Release Date: TBA):
Set in a glorious era of 1960s Mumbai, Dabba Cartel follows five normal-looking housewives who manage a high-stakes cartel clandestinely and secretly. The series explores the themes of dreams, backstabbing, and comradeship as the characters navigate their life in post-independence India. The series will stream only on Netflix. Moreover, as of writing this, the release date of the intriguing and pulpy Hindi action-crime ensemble drama series has not been revealed by makers anywhere.
7. Rakht Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom: (December 27, 2025):
Set in a fictional kingdom, Rakht Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom is a much-awaited riveting narrative-based high-octane Hindi language action-fantasy drama series helmed by Raj and DK. The show promises spectacular visuals and impactful battle sequences. It follows a group of daring and brave-hearted heroes who fight against all challenging odds to save their kingdom from a dark and destructive threat. This awaited series will premiere by December 27, 2025, only on Netflix.
8. Stardom: (Netflix series: Release Date: TBA):
Stardom is a highly awaited six-episodic Hindi Bollywood-centric drama series. The series is the debut directorial venture of global Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan. Set in the alluring yet highly competitive world of Bollywood, the series will follow a rookie and fledgling outsider who has a dream to make it big in the film industry. It will reportedly feature a slew of celebrity cameos. The series will be streaming on Netflix. As of now, the makers and production house have not disclosed the release date for Stardom anywhere.
9. The Sabarmati Report (Zee 5: January 10):
The plot revolves around the detailed and in-depth investigation by a journalist into the real story of the Sabarmati Express fire and the following cover-up by some media outlets during the Gujarat riots. The movie will stream on Zee 5 on January 10.

10. Gunaah Season 2 (Disney + Hotstar: January 3):
In Season 2, The protagonist Shiva finds his life destroyed by those people whom he trusts the most. Taking on a new and unique identity as Abhimanyu, he ventures on a path filled with pulse-pounding challenges to seek vengeance. The series will stream on January 3 only on Disney Plus Hotstar.
