Sony SAB is a Hindi TV channel owned by Culver Max Entertainment. The channel was started on 23 April 1999 as SAB TV. For the unversed, SAB TV was created by Gautam Adhikari and Markand Adhikari under their company, Sri Adhikari Brothers. During its initial launch, SAB TV was mainly focused on comedy shows.
However, in 2005, Sony Pictures Networks took over and rebranded SAB TV as Sony SAB, thus shifting its focus to general entertainment. By 2008, the channel Sony SAB became a complete Hindi entertainment channel. In 2011, the channel officially adopted the name “Sony SAB” with a new logo.
The Sony SAB channel launched its HD version in 2016. Interestingly, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the longest-running television serial till date of the channel.
