Highlights
After replacing Bigg Boss 18 in its time slot, Laughter Chefs: Entertainment Unlimited Season 2 made a grand return on Colors TV and Jio Cinema at 9:30 pm. The new season kicked off with the tagline, “Comedy Ka Blast Phir Se!” It sticks to its trademark comedy-cooking theme, where celebrities with little to no cooking experience take on hilarious challenges to prepare tricky dishes. The premiere episode was packed with chaos, laughter, and unexpected twists, keeping the mood light and fun.
Cast:
The cast includes Bharti Singh, Harpal Singh Sokhi, Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lehri, Elvish Yadav, Abdu Rozik, Abhishek Kumar, Samarth Jurel, Mannara Chopra, Rubina Dilaik, Kashmera Shah, Ankita Lokhande, and Vicky Jain.
Performances:
Bharti Singh steals the show with her effortless hosting and comic timing, while Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi adds charm with his playful yet honest judging style. Krushna Abhishek and Sudesh Lehri bring their as-usual comic dialogues, and Elvish Yadav and Abdu Rozik add a fresh, youthful vibe. Mannara Chopra’s positive and playful energy and Rubina Dilaik’s confidence stand out, making sure every contestant contributes something unique to this season’s mix.
Review:
The premiere episode was about two hours long and divided into sections: contestant introductions, first dish preparation, dish reviews, and the winner, followed by the second dish preparation and winner announcement. While the structure was fine, the content felt like a mix of hits and misses.
The contestants spent most of their time joking and roasting each other rather than focusing on their cooking. This was fun to watch, especially the banter from celebrities like Mannara Chopra and Krushna Abhishek, who referenced their experiences on Colors TV shows like Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi in a funny way. But their lack of focus on the cooking challenges was noticeable. Among all the participants, I found Abdu Rozik and Ankita Lokhande to be the most sincere while preparing their dishes.
What stood out for me was the clean humor and light-hearted tone of the show. Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi was a highlight with his honest feedback, which he delivered firmly but kindly, thus ensuring no one felt bad. This made the cooking challenges engaging while keeping the mood relaxed.
However, some parts felt slow and not as funny as I expected for a grand premiere. While the jokes were good in parts throughout the episode, they didn’t always make me laugh out loud, and the contestants’ carefree attitude toward cooking sometimes made it less exciting to watch. It was obvious the contestants were interested in making us laugh and not really serve any delicious or good-looking dishes. Their casual mistakes, like confusing milk powder with corn flour were funny but got repetitive.
Verdict:
Laughter Chefs Season 2 has a lot of potential with its entertaining mix of contestants and messy cooking challenges. While the premiere had its share of funny and light-hearted moments, it wasn’t as consistently entertaining as I had hoped. However, it’s worth a watch if you enjoy comedy with a touch of chaos. Hopefully, the upcoming episodes will bring even more laughs and excitement.
