After a tedious process, ex-couple Dhanush and his estranged wife Aishwarya, are finally granted a divorce. Within the list of celebrity marriages ending and celebrity relationships that ultimately went for a toss, Dhanush and Aishwarya’s divorce has sent the South industry another blow.
Recent reports from media publications state that the Chennai Family Welfare Court has granted them a divorce after witnessing that the couple was unable to sort out their marital life issues and also failed to reunite because of the unending problems. As a result, the couple decided to part ways from this relationship and are officially divorced, as per the Chennai Family Welfare Court order.
According to reports from a leading regional portal, even when the case went on, the estranged couple never appeared in the previous three instances for a court hearing. But this time, Aishwarya made an appearance in the court on November 21 alongside Dhanush. The duo then expressed their decision to divorce due to their inability to continue living together, and the judge gave a new hearing date for November 27. After the court’s ruling today, the former couple is now officially divorced.
Post a dreamy marriage in 2004, Dhanush and Aishwarya were the ace power couple of the South industry for 18 years. The former couple has two sons named Yatraa and Linga. Despite living near each other in Poes Garden, they make it a point to spend quality time with their children. The couple is involved in co-parenting their children and often shares family moments on their social media.

For those unaware, in 2022, after 18 years of togetherness, the couple officially announced their decision to separate as a couple. They had released a joint statement on social media. Their statement read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa/Dhanush and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this.”

Meanwhile, Dhanush has recently filed an official case with the Madras High Court against actress Nayanthara and her husband-director Vignesh Sivan for illegally using the 3-second BTS clip of the 2015 Tamil hit film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale. The film, – was produced under Dhanush’s production banner – Wunderbar Movies.
