Fans of ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ can expect a memorable 4K experience in the theatres. The trailer has already sparked intense anticipation for the remastered version of the classic.

The film is being distributed by Geek Pictures India, AA Films and Excel Entertainment. Shri V. Vijayendra Prasad – prominent for his efforts in Baahubali, RRR and Bajrangi Bhaijaan – is overseeing the creative adaptation of the fresh three versions.

Directed by Yogo Sako, Ram Mohan and Koichi Sasaki, ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ is one of the most familiar versions of Lord Rama’s journey among Indian audiences. In the earlier Hindi version, Shatrughan Sinha played the role of the narrator.

Japanese-Indian anime classic retains devoted fanbase

Despite not getting a theatrical release until January 2025, this Japanese-Indian anime classic ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ has gained a devoted fanbase across India and in other countries due to its television reruns in the early 2000s.

This 1993 film represents a beautiful Indian-Japanese collaboration. It seamlessly integrates animation styles from both countries. The engaging visuals and authentic storytelling continue to honour its roots in Indian mythology.
