XO Kitty Season 2 dropped on Netflix on January 16. The second installment of this hit teen drama is making headlines across the globe for all the right reasons. Our protagonist had a chaotic (as usual), challenging and optimistic time at KISS.
The Korean Independent School of Seoul is no ordinary institution in South Korea. Kitty, the lead star in our story, landed in Seoul from the US to meet her long-time pen-pal-turned-boyfriend Dae and find her late mom’s connection to KISS.
XO Kitty Season 1: Kitty’s time to probe and learn
Our teen matchmaker cannot stay miles from romance and drama. She meets Dae but things had already become complicated as he and Yuri, another student at KISS, are flaunting their ‘fake’ relationship. Things start to get better for Kitty and Dae, nonetheless.
I’m talking about the first season here. In subsequent episodes, our female protagonist stumbles upon her unprecedented feelings for Yuri. She learns that she is bisexual. In the grand finale, Min Ho proposes to Kitty in the plane and more chaos lands in Kitty’s life.
Not to forget, Kitty also spent some time at the boys’ dorm as KISS had made some mistakes (apparently, due to her name) and her roommate in the girls’ dorm (she goes there after a space opens in the dorm) is not the best kind of roommate one can hope.
By the end of XO, Kitty Season 1, the audience definitely had questions;
1. Is Kitty coming back to KISS? (She returns to the boys dorm due to the roommate drama)
2. Is Kitty going to embrace her ‘unprecedented’ feelings for Yuri?
3. Is Kitty going to accept Min Ho’s feelings for her?
4. Is Kitty going to find out more about her mother?
Don’t fret! XO Kitty Season 2 addresses tough questions
Spoiler alert! Sorry. For one of our greatest questions – Is Kitty returning to KISS? – our superstar does return as a stronger person to the Seoul institution. Principal Lim is no longer there and Professor Lee assumes her position instead.
For the second question about Kitty’s feelings for Yuri, you need to go through the entire series (as soon as possible) to understand the protagonist’s hard time understanding and bringing them to Yuri’s notice.
Kitty and Yuri share a brief kiss in one of the episodes and get caught, too. Does Juliana find out about this? You need to learn that from the series. Nonetheless, things start to get so much more chaotic as Kitty, Yuri and Juliana are roommates this season.
There is another person in their room, too. Stella, the fourth person, is – to some extent – quite mysterious. She has a hidden reason to be at KISS. Is it bad or something useful? You can find out in the series, as usual. It is gonna be a fun ride, I promise.
Is Kitty going to find out more about her mother?
Coming to our fourth question (skipping the third and the most important one for later), does Kitty find out more about her mother and her time at KISS in the 1990s? Yes. Yes. Our protagonist is pretty good at probing.
Kitty finds out a lot about her mother and Simon, the mystery person. Is Simon her mother’s boyfriend? The second installment of the season addresses all of these confusing questions in detail.
There is a gentle spoiler here. Sorry, again. Kitty is going to help meet her mother’s goal to reunite her family. Great, right? This special time unfolds in more detail in the final season, and there is a beautiful cameo by one of Kitty’s sisters. No more details on that here.
Kitty’s sister Lara Jean’s boyfriend Peter also lands in Seoul, surprising our protagonist and the entire audience, too. He is so charismatic and handsome. You are going to glide through these segments like a gentle breeze during the spring season.
Does Kitty accept Min Ho’s feelings for her?
This question is so important that I had to offer it a special sub-heading. So, in the finale of XO, Kitty Season 1, Min Ho proposed to Kitty on their flight to the US. Many of us definitely smiled through this segment – and so did Kitty (didn’t she?).
In the second season, Kitty and Min Ho stand up for each other as things start turning south. Min Ho plays a big role in helping Kitty reunite her family. Kitty, on the other hand, helps Min Ho actress a tough crisis related to his father and their family business.
I’m not going to elaborate on Min Ho’s challenges. But I do need to stress here that he has got some pretty good friends. In the finale, Min Ho is accompanying his father and elder brother on a grand trip. So does it mean Kitty and Min Ho do not become a thing?
Hear me out. There is no reason to be disheartened. Kitty is a matchmaker, helping many single people turn into couples. In connection to Min Ho, is she going to let her skills go into the bin? Probably not. She is adamant and so is the one flaunting his British accent.
Do they share a kiss though? Nah. I’m sorry, but Kitty and Min Ho do not share a kiss in the finale. But there is a reason to be optimistic. It appears Kitty is joining Min Ho on his grand trip. That is so soothing for our gentle hearts, right?
The elephant in the room
Finally, is an XO, Kitty Season 3 in the pipeline? There are no official announcements [yet]. But to be honest, I’m optimistic as there is no reason for Netflix to not continue running this superhit teen drama. Ultimately, it all depends on us, the audience. Don’t disappoint.
