K-Pop sensation BTS is back in the limelight, despite the majority of its members currently serving in the military. Spotify noted on Thursday that BTS has emerged as the most streamed K-Pop artist on the streaming platform in 2024.
The hugely successful boy band from South Korea topped Spotify’s list of global top K-Pop artists of 2024. Members Jungkook, Jimin and V secured the second, fourth and seventh positions on the highlighted anticipated list.
BTS noted this feat despite the military enlistment. Jin got discharged in June and J-Hope, in October. Usually, male idols become inactive during their conscription. But BTS members continued to release solo projects prepared beforehand.

1. BTS
BTS, also called Bangtan Boys, ruled the list of most streamed K-Pop artists on Spotify in 2023, too. This South Korean boy band formed in 2010 and has been ruling the Korean entertainment scene for years lately. The members have been active since 2013.

2. Jungkook
Jeon Jung-kook, or simply Jungkook, is a South Korean singer. He rose to global prominence as a member and vocalist of BTS. In 2022, he featured on Charlie Puth’s ‘Left and Right’. Later that year, he became the first Korean artist to release an official song for FIFA.

3. Stray Kids
Stray Kids is a South Korean boy band that JYP Entertainment formed back in 2017. The band used to have 8 members, but due to undisclosed reasons, one of the members left in October 2019. Stray Kids primarily self-produces its recordings.

4. Jimin
Park Ji-min, or prominently called Jimin, is a hugely successful South Korean singer and dancer. In 2013, he made his debut as a member of BTS, under the record label Big Hit Entertainment. Jimin released his debut solo album ‘Face’ in 2023.

5. NewJeans
This South Korean girl group is prominent globally for its ‘girl next door’ image and musical stylings reminiscent of the 1990s and 2000s. The members have been active since 2022. Their name alludes to the idea that jeans are a timeless fashion item.

Bad Bunny, also called the ‘King of Latin Trap’, is the first non-English-language act to grab the title of Spotify’s most streamed artist of the year. This Puerto Rican singer, rapper, actor and record producer has been making headlines for his creations.

4. Drake
Drake is an influential figure in popular music. He is a Canadian rapper, singer and actor. He started gaining recognition for starring as Jimmy Brooks in the CTV teen drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation (2001-2008).
