A resounding set of stories that are all focused on an individual and his/her life choices that are unacceptable by the society or their own family. The Visual Maestro of Hindi Cinema, Director Imtiaz Ali brings in a closer to home narrative of an young Indian Immigrant Woman who is working at a Restaurant as a help but has to live under the pretense of a ‘Manager’ to her family who question her life and every nuanced aspect of it. Her choices are picked and ploughed under the disguise of Pride and Honor.
Director of the profound ‘Village Rockstar’, Rima Das discusses the disability aspect of diversity that needs to be addressed with such care and sensitivity and must be normalised through art form. Following the story of a young woman on the Autistic Spectrum wishes to express herself through Ballet.
Filmmaker Kabir Khan in his best form adds the story of a young and talented girl from the war torn part of the world who moves to Melbourne for a better future finds herself following her passion in Cricket while racial and cross cultural disputes arise startling her career as a player.
Director Onir who in 2023 made a love story surrounding the LGBTQ law in India through his film ‘Pine Cone’ is yet again bringing in the perspective of a Gay man whose severed relationship with his father is tested when the difference in opinion furthers the tear.
