John Cena, the 16-time award-winning WWE wrestling legend and now an acclaimed actor, entrepreneur, and producer, is set to star in an upcoming Netflix comedy-drama feature film. The film is titled Little Brother. Ever since the makers announced the film, it has created a lot of anticipation and intrigue around the possible cast. More so, it is in terms of what the theme and plot of the film would be. Talking about the film, the screenplay is penned by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel and is produced by David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer.

For those unaware, Cena and Andre are reuniting in this film on digital screens after they collaborated on The Eric Andre Show in the Season 5 episode, “The ASAP Ferg Show”. In the now-infamous 2020 episode, Andre suffered a real-life concussion after an on-camera accident involving Cena and a metal shelf.

2025 is going to be an emotionally bitter-sweet year for John Cena as he will be retiring from professional WWE wrestling. For wrestling lovers and fans who have grown up watching Cena on their TV screens and are unaware, he officially disclosed his retirement plans in July 2024, with his last appearance at WrestleMania scheduled for April 2025 during the live event’s 41st glorious celebration in the infamous sin city of Las Vegas. Cena earlier revealed that his Farewell Tour could run from January to December.

Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s Chief Content officer at the Los Angeles event revealed how they have really good camaraderie and bonds with so many nuanced stars that come from WWE on both the TV and film side. Explaining the same in detail within a Deadline interview, she shared, “Again, we have so many great stars that come from WWE that we’ve had a great relationship with on the TV and movie side. We are about to do a new movie with our very own John Cena. It’s a really great comedy called Little Brother starring Cena and Eric Andre together, and we’re super excited about that.”
