Do you know that ‘NE ZHA 2’ has now beaten the box office records of ‘Frozen 2’ to become the 3rd highest-grossing animated film of all time? Yeah, interestingly, the film NE ZHA 2 is now all ready to overtake ‘Inside Out 2’ and ‘The Lion King’ in the coming days, thus creating a new history as the first animated film to cross $2 BILLION at the global box office.
No wonder the world of animated films has seen huge growth over the years. Interestingly, several blockbuster movies are getting worldwide appeal and success. So, this trend has been initiated by the film Inside Out 2, which grossed over $1.69 billion in 2024, claiming first place as of 17 February 2025.
Following closely behind is Ne Zha 2, as the film is enjoying tremendous success, which has surpassed Frozen 2 by getting its place as the third highest-grossing animated film of all time. The film is hopefully going to break several records and it will soon surpass Inside Out 2 and The Lion King, thus probably becoming the first animated film to cross the $2 billion mark globally.
Among the other films in the top rankings are The Lion King (2019), Frozen 2, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which have all amassed impressive global earnings. Doesn’t it show the true power of animation in global cinema?
