Prolific actor Saif Ali Khan is in the limelight but for an unfortunate reason. The 54-year-old has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after being stabbed at least six times by an unidentified intruder in the early hours of Thursday.
The suspect reportedly entered Saif’s residence in Bandra during an alleged burglary attempt. Lilavati Hospital has released an official statement, highlighting that the actor sustained multiple stab injuries. One of the injuries is alarmingly close to his spine.

Saif had to go through meticulous surgery. His son Ibrahim and a caretaker rushed him to the hospital at 3:30 am. Hospital COO Dr Niraj Uttamani has confirmed that Saif’s condition is stable, though the full extent of the damage is yet to be determined.
The Bandra police and the Mumbai crime branch are probing the break-in and attack. The authorities are trying to understand if the intruder – yet to be caught – had been attempting a burglary or had another intention.
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team has also confirmed the attempted burglary in a statement. The actress’s husband, Saif, sustained an arm injury during the chaos, it further read, adding that “the rest of the family is doing fine.”

Unfortunately, the attack on Saif Ali Khan during an alleged burglary in the early hours of Thursday is not an unprecedented incident in the entertainment industry. Before him, multiple other celebrities have been victims of assaults.
