It’s been confirmed that Zakir Khan’s show, Aapka Apna Zakir, won’t be airing on TV anymore. The show has come to an unexpected stop after starting off strongly on August 10, 2024.
Reason for being taken off air:
The show was airing on Sony TV network but now has been taken down. The reason cited for stopping Zakir Khan’s show was the low TRP it was gaining, thus meaning failing to get interest of the TV audiences. According to sources, the second week’s ratings were so abnormally low that the makers almost fell off their seats. They haven decided and informed Zakir about scrapping the show from the timeline charts.
Reports indicate that only 6 episodes had been filmed and more were in line. But now, it seems that the production will be stopped and the rest of the episodes that had been filmed would not be released. “They are only getting big stars and there was nothing interesting about the show when it comes to creative aspects. Hence, the ratings are low, as the audience has already rejected it”.

In an interview, Zakir Khan had said, “The name wasn’t my idea. I wanted something else. I was democratic with my team and the channel when they came up to me. They said it was the best name and I disagreed. I thought if I fought for this, I might lose out some bigger negotiation later. It was a smaller battle and I gave in. Now I like the name. My Title didn’t have my name in them”.
Speaking about the negotiating process, he said, “It wasn’t much of a negotiation, it was a collaborative effort. They have been nice and kind, they have given me a lot of space, which I hadn’t expected. Everything transpired smoothly.”
