2024 was an eclectic year for Indian cinema where Bollywood films like Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank, Fighter, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Crew, Shaitaan, and Munjya surprised cinema lovers with their unexpected and magnanimous box-office record. For audiences who want to know about the eagerly awaited films of 2025, here is a list of the 18 most awaited Bollywood films that will be released in 2025.

1. War 2 (2025):

A sequel to the iconic and smash-hit War (2019), War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan as the lead Kabir and NTR Jr as the lead antagonist. The Bollywood film, War 2, is a part of the YRF Films YRF Spy Universe. This film is already making waves across social media even before its posters or teasers are revealed, which makes this one a must-watch film. The film is likely set for release on August 14, 2025 in theatres.

As per a film review fan page’s viral tweet on X, the action sequences in #war2 are already being shot with perfection and are next level in terms of intensity and adrenaline-inducing quotient in every frame of the scenes within the film. 2. Alpha (December 25, 2025):

The multi-dimensional YRF spy universe is set to have another addition with national award-winning actor Alia Bhatt and rising star Sharvari Wagh led Alpha. Both Alia and Sharvari play elite agents in this enthralling actioner-drama-extravaganza. This will be YRF’s first ever female-led spy-action-thriller-drama flick. The film has been helmed by Shiv Ravail and will drop in theatres by December 25, 2025.

3. Deva (January 31, 2025):

Deva is a much-awaited Indian actioner-thriller-drama film. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde in lead roles with Pavail Gulati, the film is being directed by ace South filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews. Initially, the film was scheduled to drop in theatres on Valentine’s Day 2025. But, now, as Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava drops in February 2025, the makers have modified the release date and kept the theatrical film release date to January 31, 2025, in theatres. So far, the makers have kept the possible plot, themes, and storyline details under tight wraps only creating another level of suspense and zeal among fans for the same.

4. Sikandar (Eid Al-Fitr 2025):

Undoubtedly, one of the most awaited films for 2025 is the global Bollywood superstar Salman Khan-led action-thriller-drama flick Sikandar. Helmed by maverick filmmaker AR Murugadoss, Sikandar has already intrigued the curiosity and thrill of Salman Khan fandom across the globe. The film stars Salman Khan, Suniel Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film follows an engaging and adrenaline-packed story of a young hero who defends his people and town from menacing enemies. As per an official tweet on X, the film is set for a theatrical release in India on Eid Al-Fitr 2025.

5. Housefull 5 (June 6, 2025):

Even before the film’s character poster’s looks and teaser reveal, ace Bollywood filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani helmed Housefull 5 has become one of the most anticipated films of 2025. The film boasts an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueliene Fernandez, Chitrangda Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Dino Morea, Nikitin Dheer, Chunky Panday, Soundarya Sharma, Jackie Shroff, and many others. The film will be released in theatres by June 6, 2025. It is promising to be a mad riot of action, fun, laughter, comical situations, ace performances, peppy dance numbers with stunning locales, and remarkable direction by the ‘Dostana’ fame filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani.

6. Azaad (January 2025):

A patriotic-action-drama film, Azaad is being helmed by ace filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor. The film is already creating immense intrigue and buzz among cinema fanatics and audiences with a multilayered story of freedom, courage, and companionship which is set in pre-Independence colonial British-ruled India back in 1920. The film’s riveting plot follows the narrative of Govind (Aaman Devgn) and his unbreakable bond with a sturdy horse named Azaad. 8. Lahore, 1947 (January 26, 2025):

Starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, and Mona Singh in leading roles, Lahore 1947 is an action-period-patriotic-war-drama film. The film will be helmed by ace filmmaker Anil Sharma. 11. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (April 18, 2025):
