Yeah, the makers have revealed the release date and first poster of the film which helps us to know that it is an upcoming gangster drama. The film was first announced on Rajkummar Rao’s 40th birthday, adding to the excitement surrounding the project. This is his first time acting as a gangster in an action film.

Rajkummar Rao plays the title role of a ruthless gangster and has come up with an intense and new avatar.
Few months back, he shared the news on Instagram, saying “#Maalik ki duniya mein aapka swagat hai. Shoot shuru ho chuka hai, jald hi mulaqat hogi (Welcome to the world of #Maalik. The shoot has begun, and we will meet soon) (sic).”

Maalik is set to release in theaters on 20th June 2025.

The action-packed film is directed by Pulkit who is known for his work in thriller and drama movies. Maalik is presently in the post-production stage.

The first look shows Rajkummar Rao with a serious face and holding a gun, giving fans a glance into his tough character.
The makers of the film shared the official announcement along with the poster, writing, “Poore pradesh aur desh pe RAJ karne aa rahe hain MAALIK! @rajkummar_rao in and as #Maalik In Cinemas on 20th June, 2025.” (We are coming to rule the state and the country.)
Rajkummar Rao took to his Instagram handle and wrote – पैदा नहीं हुये तो क्या बन तो सकते हैं। मालिक (“Even if you weren’t born one, you can still become a Maalik (master/leader).”
The movie promises a new and powerful role for Rajkummar Rao, adding to his list of hit movies such as Mr & Mrs Mahi, Stree 2, and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
