The Indian Screenwriters Association (SWA) is hosting its 7th Annual Conference with the theme “New Reality” for 3 days, bringing together some of the most influential voices of the industry. The event is going to be held on February 14 -16 from 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM, at Sheila Gopal Raheja Auditorium, Bandra, Mumbai. The event aims to address the evolving changes faced by the Indian Screenwriters. Among the guests, Chris Keyser, an American Screenwriter, and former president of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) is going to engage with Indian Screenwriters in a series of discussions and interactions.
The showrunner, Chris Keyser, who is the prominent person among WGA writer’s, and his recent work includes Lone Star, Tyrant and Netflix’s The Society is going to be the face of the movement. His contributions to Television and leadership in the writer’s community has made him an eminent person.
What was the focus of previous Conference?
The antecedent 6th Annual Conference, held by SWA, took place on November 10-12, 2022 , at St. Andrew’s Auditorium in Bandra, Mumbai. The event was hosted with a theme named, “WHO AM I? Is our unique storytelling a boon or a bane? The conference delved into the challenges and dilemmas writers face in balancing personal expression with industry expectations. The event featured a series of panel discussions.
For the first time, they introduced master classes for films, television and OTT platforms, led by director Sriram Raghavan. Director, Mani Ratnam served as the chief guest, engaged in a conversation about complicated aspects of storytelling. The conference also depicted the “Pan India” film.
