‘Hindi- Vindi’ is a musical tale that is a refreshing cross cultural and linguistic collaboration of India and Australia directed by Ali Sayed. The movie follows the story of Kabir, an Australian aspiring Musician who recently lost his mother, finds that his maternal grandmother is living in India. Their subsequent relationship mending and their stark differences in language, culturally stands in between them when the grandmother visits Australia.
‘Hindi- Vindi’ Trailer and Plot
Kabir is an Australian born Indian who lost his mother, an Indian and his father, James is arrested, leaving him and his life tilted. An aspiring musician who is goal oriented and in lack of emotional support finds out that he has a living relative in India, his maternal grandmother (Neena Gupta) who decides to visit Kabir in Australia. As she touches ground, the two feel the emotional bond that lacks communication as Kabir doesn’t know Hindi while grandmother sticks to explaining things using signs. As days grow, Kabir is frustrated with her lack of understanding of English and learns about her deteriorating health that pushes him to deliver a song in a language he doesn’t understand.
Hindi- Vindi is also a musical feat that has collaboration from Australian singer Guy Sebastian who also stars in the film and Legendary Indian Singers Javed- Mohsin and Rashmi- Virag.
