Interstellar has been re-released in the theatres in India during Valentine’s Week 2025. For the unversed, Interstellar was earlier released in 2014, it is a science fiction drama directed by Christopher Nolan, who wrote the story with his brother, Jonathan. It was produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan, and Lynda Obst, while Jordan Goldberg, Jake Myers, Kip Thorne, and Thomas Tull served as executive producers. The movie features Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine. The film takes place in a future where Earth is suffering from food shortages and harsh living conditions. A team of astronauts travels through a wormhole near Saturn to find a new planet where humans can survive. The film was a huge success back then, thus becoming the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2014. Interstellar received mostly positive reviews and was nominated for five Academy Awards, winning Best Visual Effects. In India, Interstellar is presently playing across both standard and premium screens, which has significantly improved its box office performance.
