Cast: Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood

Simmba, a Rohit Shetty-directed film promises a lot of action and comedy as it revolves around the life of Simmba who is an unethical cop. However, an event changes his life and makes him realize his mistakes to walk towards the right path.

2) Gadar: Ek Prem Katha

Cast: Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Amrish Puri, Lillete Dubey

Directed by Uttam Singh and Anil Sharma, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is an old-school romantic film that is set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan partition war. Many lessons for Hindus and Muslims to learn from to live in a secular world. What is interesting is the love story of Tara Singh and Sakina who marry each other despite the partition and how Sakina’s father ensures that they don’t lead a happy married life. Watch this film if you want to watch Gadar 2 so that you will know the story better.

3) Uri: The Surgical Strike

Cast: Vicky Kaushal, Riva Arora, Mohit Raina, Swaroop Sampat

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri: The Surgical Strike is one of the best one-time-watch if you are a Vicky Kaushal fan as this is one of his career-defining performances. The film is about the surgical strike that was implemented by the Indian Army on suspected terrorists who attacked an army camp in Uri in 2016.

4) Hum Saath Saath Hain

Cast: Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Mohnish Behl, Karisma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Tabu, Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo

When it comes to family drama, this film directed by Sooraj Barjatya tops the list after Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! You can pretty well consider this film as the sequel to Hum Aapke film considering it has most of the similar characters from the 1994 film. Released in 1999, Hum Saath Saath Hain came at a time when Indians were moving abroad for jobs and a new trend was started in India for nuclear families as youngsters were settling in cities to take up jobs in MNCs. Based on family values and also 3 romantic stories, the film is a must-watch for those who really want to reunite with their families and instill good values among their children.

5) Ghajini

Cast: Aamir Khan, Asin

Ghajini is a 2008 Hindi film that showed Aamir Khan in two different avatars. Aamir played the role of Sanjay Singhania who was a rich businessman but falls in love with Kalpana, a rising model. The film has many flashbacks and present moments for the audience to understand the story of Sanjay and Kalpana and what really happened with Sanjay that made him hunt for a ruthless criminal while facing anterograde amnesia.

6) Kahaani 2

Cast: Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal

Kahaani 2 is not the second part of Kahaani film featuring Vidya Balan. It is just another story that revolves around Vidya Sinha and her daughter Mini. Vidya goes into coma when she tries to save her daughter from getting kidnapped. Inspector Inderjeet is suspicious about Vidya’s reality and discovers her dark past.

7) Bareilly Ki Barfi

Cast: Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao

Directed by Ashwiny Iyer, Bareilly Ki Barfi talks about romance, friendship, and pursuing passion. Bitti is in love with a writer and asks Chirag’s help to reach him. However, Chirag tries to impress Bitti as he loves Bitti. Who will Bitti choose at the end of the story?

8) Vivah

Cast: Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao

Directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya, Vivah is a modern take on romance before an arranged marriage. How Prem and Poonam try to understand each other despite belonging to different economic classes and cities before their actual wedding happens is something you will like to watch.

9) Pardes

Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Mahima Chaudhary, Apurva Agnihotri

Directed by Subhash Ghai, Pardes is a love story set in the backdrop of NRIs looking for Indian brides so that they can teach traditional values to their future generations. Will Ganga be able to live in the US with Rajiv and forget Indian culture or will she return to India?

10) Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana

Cast: Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda

Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aaana became quite famous after its release on social media as trollers were able to find out how aspiring civil service students can take revenge on their ex-lovers for dumping them for better careers or better partners. And the revenge came in the form of studying high and becoming an IAS officer for Satyendra or Sattu who meets Aarti at his Lucknow office.
